logo-iec-equine-solutions-200x407We are delighted to welcome IEC Equine Solutions as a key sponsor at Weston Park on the 6th and 7th April 2019 sponsoring the IEC Equine Solutions Open Intermediate section running on Sunday.

IEC Equine Solutions commented "We are proud and excited to be involved in the sponsorship of such a well organised and supported event. We are incredibly lucky that a nationally recognised event such as this is so local to our offices and production crop here in Shropshire. Many of our customers are professional competitive riders and we are fully aware that events such as these would struggle to run without sponsorship from within the Equine Industry. We are very pleased to be in position to support this years event and are looking forward to attending what promises to be an exciting weekend."

IEC Equine Solutions is part of a family-owned farming business, Wilson Farms, with more than 40 years' experience working in agriculture. They specialise in providing horse owners with exceptionally absorbent and consistent bedding and feed products across the UK, from the Highlands down to Devon and Cornwall and everywhere in-between.

Based locally in Shropshire, IEC Equine Solutions contacted Janet Plant joint organiser asking for opportunities to be involved. Janet commented, "How good it was to hear from a company that wished to put something back into the sport, this is a company that is fully aware of equestrian needs. IEC Equine Solutions will be a tremendous boost to the event. Without such Sponsorship our sport would never have grown to the world wide scene we see today. IEC Equine Solutions support will help Weston Park build on improvements to enhance the competitor's experience."

IEC Equine Solutions supply three great products that reflect their knowledge, understanding and experience of the equine world's needs:-

Spring has arrived and Janet & Vicky Plant and team are busy with preparations for this highly popular event. The immaculately constructed courses, combined with the natural beauty of the Weston Park estate, attract leading UK riders to meet the challenge. The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday 6th and 7th April.
What a difference a year makes with fabulous sunshine to put out fences.

The going is perfect with good grass cover and the team are working on producing 3 tracks all with a few new fences. The Advanced course will have a new look at the Sunken Road and the water splash. The Intermediate have a new look at Hadrian's and a different combination 4 from home, while the Novices will go through the Kidney pool in the opposite direct. As always the cross country will run across the Weston Park's marvellous old turf with great viewing of most of the track. The team never tires of that first glimpse of the park as you drive through the main gates up the little slope to see the deer park spread in front of you.

Saturday Classes
Once again we welcome the Charles Owen Pony Trial, which we have run for a number of years - this attracts a large number of entries and will prove to be an exciting competition.

The Saturday also includes Novice sections sponsored by Moores Metals and Landsbrook Stud plus 2 more sections of Novice and Open Novice classes.

Sunday Classes

For many of the top riders in the Rookery Park stud and Tile Choice Advanced sections this event acts as an ideal 'warm –up' for the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials in May.

Once again the hotly contested Saracen Horse Feeds Open Intermediate Under 21 section will see our young riders and the NAF Juniors competing for a place in the British European teams this summer. In addition there will be three Intermediate sections all battling for a place in the British Intermediate Championship qualifier.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to Weston Park on the 6th & 7th April.

I would like to wish everyone a Very Happy Christmas.

Especially our competitors because without you the Weston Park Horse Trials team would not have so much fun. The level of competition is always hot, horses and riders are beautifully turned out I will never tire of watching horses gallop across the magnificent Park land, thank you for your support.

It never ceases to amaze me how many volunteers we need each year to run this special event, each and every one of you should raise a glass to your success. You make Weston Park the great event that all our competitors rave about. Make no mistake, without you there would be no event, from the early risers for dressage to the final prize giving every one works so hard behind the event to make this magical park come alive for every level of competitor.

The year is nearly over and plans are already a foot for 2019, the team is busy building new fences for the Weston Park spring event and the Autumn Weston has a new BE90 Regional Team Championship to look forward to.

Finally thank you Sponsors for all of your support in 2018, we can never underestimate just what Sponsorship has allowed this great event to become.

Blue Chip Central North West BE80T Challenge Final

Mitsubishi Motors Cup BE90 and BE100 Regional Final

... two exciting days of competition at wonderful Weston Park …

Weston Park is situated on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border - the house, built in 1671 wasthe ancestral home of the Earls of Bradford. Visitors are attracted from all over the world to this sunning venue which today is run by a charitable foundation.

Weston Park Horse Trials has experience stretching over 40 years in show casing Championship level events with educational Cross Country Courses, respected for bold and encouraging beautifully built and dressed fences at all levels.

Over 500 entries have been received for this action packed weekend – which include some of the world’s leading riders – Oliver Townend, Polly Stockton, Jeanette Brakewell, and Irish team member Padraig Mccarthy who recently competed at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon.

On Saturday the Blue Chip BE90 and the Blue Chip Central North West BE80(T) Challenge and on Sunday the Rookery Park Novice Sections and Moores Metals Open Novice including under 18's plus the Blue Chip BE100. Each day will run a Mitsubishi Regional Final which is a qualifier for the Mitsubishi Motors Cup at Badminton next May. The organisers of Weston Park Horse Trials are thrilled to be working with all their Sponsors - David and Catherine Witt of Rookery Park Stud being the Title sponsors once again.

The Blue Chip Central North West BE80(T) Challenge was designed to enhance the education of the BE80(T) competitor, attracting new competitors to British Eventing and last year provided the grassroots riders of our sport within the region an exciting end to their season.
The Challenge has run qualifiers within The Central North West at the eight qualifying events – the last being Kelsall Hill two weeks ago where Amy Dixon and Goodluck II qualified.

The final proved to be so popular with competitors that they had to be split into two sections with Blue Chip Feed providing a year's sponsorship to the winner of each section. This great prize will also include the winner starring in Blue Chip promotions. What a fantastic prize!

Clare Blaskey, founder of Blue Chip Feed, who have supported Weston Park since it welcomed the grassroots riders in 2013 said "Blue Chip is thrilled to continue with their support of the Blue Chip BE80(T) it is the perfect Championship for riders starting out on their eventing career."

The course, designed by Janet Plant and superbly constructed, will run over a thousand acres of rolling wooded parkland and the fences are solid and imposing. Each class runs over a different course Janet comments “it is always a great privilege to design on such a fabulous estate and the courses run on the central park through the wood by Park Lake giving wonderful views from the vantage points which is greatly appreciated by owners, riders and spectators”.
